Welcome to the Families in Transition Website!
Families In
Transition, Inc. (FIT), is a registered 501(c)(3) non-for-profit
corporation created to help in-need families in the Trenton/Mercer
County, New Jersey area. FIT’s main goal is to save intact
families whose stability is threatened by current or impending
homelessness or whose present accommodations are otherwise
unsuitable. FIT “temporarily”* places
such families in housing acquired by FIT for the purpose, and then
works to get them back on their feet and into permanent housing.
*Although FIT states that the participants in our program are temporary, the clients are offered leases of at least 6 months in duration and have stayed with the program for up to 2 years, depending on need. Each client is evaluated on a case by case basis.
Singing
group PSALOM from Russia will give a benefit concert for FIT.
PSALOM's compositions and performances are in the Orthodox
tradition - fully acapella. See their website for

concert is at 3:30pm on Sunday, January 29 at the Princeton
Church of Christ, 33 River Road, Princeton, NJ 08540.

September 2011 - Families in Transitions Benefit Concert.A Benefit Concert was held at the home of Karen House where Peggy Lee Brown performed for some 50 guests. Following the concert was a buffet dinner. This concert was a very big success, raising $4,750 October 2011 - FIT Honors Retiring Board Members FIT hosted a lunch to honor former Board members, Judy and David Levy, at the home of Karen House. They were presented with a plaque to acknowledge their deep dedication and outstanding service over the more than decade they each had served. January 2012 - FIT Holds Another Benefit Concert FIT will host PSALOM on Sunday, January 29th, at 3:30, at the Princeton Church of Christ, 33 River Road, Princeton. A free-will offering will be taken during this Concert. |
