SPECIAL THANK YOU

This past spring, Colonial Auto Complex of N. Olden Avenue in Ewing, NJ donated $200 to Families in Transition.

We appreciate their interest and investment in the community through our programs to prevent homelessness.

Community Christian Choir Concert Benefits Families in Transition

On Sunday, May 7, 2006, the Community Christian Choir presented a concert at the Allentown High School located  in

Allentown, NJ and generously donated the proceeds to Families in Transition.

During intermission, David Quinlan, our Vice President  spoke about FIT and one of its recent families.

His powerful words showcased Families in Transition and  personalized the individuals we serve.

These characterizations and success stories gave new meaning to our goals at Families in Transition.

Thank you so much CCC for making Families in Transition one of your important benefactors.

Poetic Expressions

One of the women who participated in our Families in Transition program has expanded her creative and expressive abilities by writing. She has graciously consented to print two of her poems in this newsletter.

LOVE, CARE, TRUST

BY Cynthia M.

There are not enough words to express how I feel.

But here are a few that you know I'm real.

Love

Is something with meaning, if I can't express what's inside,

It's found in my heart and defines gentle kind.

Care

To care for you is not an easy thing to do.

But I'm working it out and I'm letting you through.

But deep down inside you already knew, how I care and feel  about you.

Trust

Is something that's not easy thing to do but, give it time and we'll work this through.

In most relationships, this is what we do.

This one word I've yet to learn;

And also that you've yet to learn.

Me, Myself and I

      by Cynthia M.

It's just me, myself and I.

I will fly among the rest

I will be at my best

I will pass the test.

Its just me, myself and I.

I will accept all things

That life has to offer me

and travel places I long to be

See all things I wish to see

being the person I want to be

totally free

me, myself along with I

Will fly, fly, fly.

We will be printing more of Cynthia's work in upcoming newsletters.

 Families in Transition Hires Administrator

This past April, 'FIT' found a perfect 'fit' in Monique Rubens Krohn as our Executive Administrator!

Monique has diversified managerial experience in non-profit and corporate environments in the healthcare, pharmaceutical & heritage tourism industries. Her skills in setting strategic direction and communications, project management & research will be of great benefit to our organization.

Monique will help FIT increase its public relations and resource development efforts so that more people learn about this organization, the good work it does, and will help support it.

Welcome aboard Monique!

CAMP MANATAWNY

Many of the children of our families have the opportunity to attend this summer camp in Pennsylvania.

Funds are coordinated between Families in Transition, Princeton Church of Christ and individual donors.

What some do not realize is that a couple of our Board members are the actual physical transporters of these children to and from camp.

In particular, Andy Pratt and his family, devote many hours on the road with his precious 'cargo' during a major portion of his summer.

Thank you Andy for your devotion and perseverance to this task. We appreciate all you do to make it happen.

Matching Gift -Are you or your spouse employed by a matching gift company?

Many companies will match your gift, multiplying its value. Check with your company for a matching gift form, complete and return to Families in Transition along with your gift.

Major requirement is to attend all Board meetings once a month on Saturdays at 8:30 AM.
